Joel Reagan talks with Jill McDonald, Executive Director of Domestic Violence Crisis Center, serving north central North Dakota, and providing shelter and advocacy to people affected by domestic and sexual violence. McDonald says the center also offers safety planning, protection-order assistance, therapy, support groups, and court-mandated offender intervention. She discusses nonphysical abuse, rural housing challenges, and navigating separation when children are involved. The conversation also covers community education, healthy relationships, and a multidisciplinary team for survivors at high risk. Families later return to say they and their children are thriving.
