Jack Church talks with Erin Allison, Executive Director for the Florida Keys Wild Bird Center. Allision said the Center has been around since 1988 and helps rescue and rehabilitate wild birds up and down the Florida Keys. She said millions of birds are crossing the Keys every year either going south for the winter or north for the summer. The Wild Bird Center treats over 1000 injured birds every year with a large majority being caught in fishing lines and needing rescue and medical attention before being released into the wild or kept in the Wild Bird Sanctuary, depending on the extent of injuries and recovery.
