Jeanice Lee talks to Dawn Pfendler, CEO & Co-Founder of Hawai’i Animal Rescue Foundation. Pfendler says they started as a grassroots organization with a primary focus on education and helping find solutions to problems. They are a no kill, privately owned rescue center which rescues and rehomes dogs and equine. Adopters/fosters are needed to create space due to the high rise of owner surrender. Pfendler shares their adoption/foster process, tips on how to prepare for welcoming a new animal into your home and encourages people to give the animal a chance to settle. Volunteers and donations welcome. (HARFCenter.org)
