Humane treatment of pet animals can be a problem in Hendricks County, Sarah Shaver spoke with Hendricks Humane Operations Manager Tricia Pierce. Ms. Pierce explained Hendricks Humane’s mission and shared a little about their history, as they are different from the county animal shelter. Their dogs are always in foster homes and the building they have houses cats and kittens. They also have a successful Community Cat program that humanely traps and spays/neuters cat colonies and then returns them to the outdoors. She spoke about their humane education program, the importance of spay and neuter, and many other topics.
