Jeanice Lee talks to the Executive Director at Hunkapi Programs, Terra Schaad. The name HUNKAPI [hun-kah-pee] is from the Lakota Native American tribe and means: “we are all related." Schaad describes how they provide horse programs, counseling, equine assisted psychotherapy, therapeutic riding and a program that has grown the most, their first responders program. She says they serve 250-300 people weekly, with a range of diagnosis from Autism, ADD, PTSD, addiction, to healing from cancer. They accept Medicaid, insurance and offer scholarships.
