LOCAL Closer Look: Macomb County (Mount Clemens, MI) 4-H

Hot Topx

Katelyn Golembiewski, Program Coordinator for Macomb County (Michigan) 4-H was Sarah Shaver’s guest on Closer Look. She started the conversation by outlining the mission of 4-H, positive youth development, and the meaning of the 4-H logo. They work with adult volunteers who guide the club members to explore a subject and learn about it through a project they then present to judges. It also helps strengthen presentation and public speaking skills and fosters friendships and cooperation. While many may think of 4-H as farming or homemaking, it’s far more, with over 200,000 kids in Michigan alone learning through hands-on skill building, whether its raising livestock or learning to code.
