Monika Kelly interviewed Mayor Laura Kropp, the youngest ever mayor of Mt. Clemens, MI. Mayor Kropp started her term in November, 2019, just prior to the pandemic and has had to navigate things like homeless sanitation and senior care. She helped arrange for food delivery to home-bound seniors. Mayor Kropp also hired a new, highly qualified City manager after an interim manager served for three years. The mayor position is largely ceremonial, but Mrs. Kropp does act as a liaison between the City Commission and the City Administration.
