Peter Kaye speaks with Jon Haseltine, Executive Director of Meals on Main Street, a grass roots nonprofit organization located on Main Street in Portchester assisting individuals and families experiencing food insecurity. Haseltine shares some of the common struggles that often force people to choose between paying bills and putting food on the table. He explains how Meals on Main Street got their start back in 2011 to distributing over 1.5 million pounds of food per year and expanding their operation to Mount Kisco. Haseltine gives a behind the scenes look at how it all comes together from food rescue through local community partners to neighbors in need receiving delicious food from their 3 food trucks.
