Sarah Shaver talks with Erica Picklesimon, Executive Director of NAMI of Clark, Greene, and Madison Counties (OH), dedicated to providing advocacy, education, support, and public awareness for individuals and families affected by mental illness. Picklesimon notes that people don’t want to talk about mental health due to stigma, misunderstanding, and shame, but when we talk about it we find we have much in common. She says all of NAMI’s services are free of charge, including a drop-in center, and it’s important to have mental health resources ready to share with family and friends.
