Jeanice Lee meets with the Executive Director of StandUp for Kids San Diego, Terilyn Burg. StandUp for Kids San Diego operates four core programs: Street Outreach, Drop-In Outreach Center which offers respite and connects them to different programs, Mentoring programs and Housing programs to help get kids off living on the streets of San Diego. Teen homeless rates are on the rise in San Diego and the ages vary from 12 + to late teens and some with children of their own. Terilyn talks about the different things the kids are exposed to while living on the streets such as no access to restrooms. If someone needs help StandUp for Kids San Diego offers their programs for free. The doors are always open and no appointment is needed. Job placement programs are offered as well.
