Monika Kelly speaks to Jo Sumner, co-Executive Director of The Swift Youth Foundation based in Scottsdale, Arizona. The Swift Youth Foundation was founded more than 40 years ago by a group of teenagers who wanted disadvantaged children to have a chance to attend summer camp. Since then, the Swift Youth Foundation has evolved to have programs to facilitate positive mentorship relationships between economically disadvantaged youth and college-bound teens – a mutually beneficial relationship with significant impact on everyone involved. Camp Swift still happens every summer and even though it was cancelled in 2020 because of the pandemic and back in session in July 2021.
