Monika Kelly spoke to Dennis Toomey, Community Relations manager for Trauma Intervention Program Northwest. TIP volunteers respond 24-7 to the scene of a death -- natural or accident-related to assist law enforcement in coming alongside of the family and friends who are directly affected by the loss. The founder of TIP realized that the most important time to address the trauma surrounding a death is immediately afterwards. TIP is a group of specially trained citizen volunteers who provide emotional aid and practical support and resources to victims of traumatic events and their families in the first few hours following a tragedy.
