Senator Dave McCormick is a Pennsylvania politician and businessman who was elected to the U.S. Senate in 2024. He is a seventh-generation Pennsylvanian whose parents were both public school teachers, with his father serving as president of Bloomsburg State College. McCormick is a West Point graduate and former Army Ranger who served in the 82nd Airborne Division, deploying in the first Gulf War. He later worked in the private sector for nearly 30 years, including serving as CEO of Bridgewater. Regarding his college wrestling experience, McCormick explained: "The last part of the six minutes isn't really about wrestling. It's about heart, it's about conditioning, it's about will." He connected this athletic experience to politics, noting that wrestling requires enormous resilience, much like campaigning and political competition.
