Jeanice Lee talks with Akilah Templeton, President and CEO of Veterans Village of San Diego. Templeton shares the organization’s long and impactful history of serving veterans throughout San Diego. Founded by veterans who recognized a critical need, Veterans Village offers a wide range of essential support — including housing, mental health care, employment services, case management, legal assistance, and help navigating benefits. Their mission is to walk alongside veterans as they rebuild their lives and work toward long-term stability, regardless of discharge status. Veterans can also walk in anytime for immediate mental health services. Volunteers are welcome. (vvsd.net).
