Big Daddy Weave remembers God’s faithfulness in the midst of tragedy on “I’ve Just Seen Too Much.” Just months following the death of his brother and former Big Daddy Weave bass player, Jay, Mike Weaver found himself at a songwriting camp with multiple collaborators, who helped him put lyrics and melodies to his grief.

Written by Weaver, Hank Bentley and Michael Farren, “I’ve Just Seen Too Much” answers a lot of questions the Big Daddy Weave frontman has been asked in the wake of losing his brother. Namely, how can you still believe God is good when He didn’t heal your brother on this side of heaven?
While the verses delve into Weaver’s acute pain, it’s the bridge where the song finally lifts, as the singer acknowledges he’s witnessed far too much of God’s goodness over the course of his life to ever believe Him to be anything but kind.
“I believe that God is the God of the Bible that we read. The stuff that you see happen in the Bible — He still does that stuff today…He is a God of power, and He is a God of miracles,” Weaver asserts. “Whenever I start to get low and feel depressed about what has happened, or I’m missing Jay, how the Lord combats that in my life is He shows me all the ways that He’s been so good to me.”

Weaver thinks about his wife, his children and the band he’s been a part of for more than two decades. That’s when his gratitude overflows. That’s how he can sing “I’ve Just Seen Too Much.”
The moving declaration appears on the K-LOVE Fan Award-winning group’s latest full-length endeavor, “Let It Begin.” In support of the project, the road warriors are back on tour this fall with singer-songwriter David Leonard and newcomer Megan Woods.
