Last year was the first time TV/Streaming broke off from the main Film Impact category to form its own bracket, with Jonathan Roumie’s “Jonathan & Jesus” taking home the trophy. This year, six diverse series vied for the title. Ultimately, Prime Video’s “House of David” came out on top at the 12th annual K-LOVE Fan Awards.
“Goodness of God” singer Jenn Johnson and author and Bible teacher Lisa Harper united to present the award for TV/Streaming Impact.
Actor Michael Iskander, who plays David, and co-creator and executive producer Jon Erwin took the stage to accept the accolade on behalf of the entire cast and crew, which encompasses more then 700 people.
Erwin proclaimed 2025 “the year of the Bible,” given the growing popularity of shows similar in nature and scope to “House of David.” He then bragged on Iskander’s talent, revealing this to be his first-ever acting role, before passing the mic off to the burgeoning actor, who quoted Joshua 1:9: “This is my command — be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”
“This show has changed my life in every way,” Iskander offered. “This show has inspired me to take down my giants, and I want you to know if the Lord is with you, you can take down yours.”
Filmed in Greece and Canada, “House of David” debuted to critical acclaim as its inaugural season followed King David’s epic rise. The series’ first eight episodes detail the fall of a prideful King Saul and the anointing of an unlikely successor. From lowly shepherd boy to highly revered royalty, David’s journey is chronicled in a visually exciting format that brings his biblical account to life in a fresh way. The Season 1 finale even reached No. 1 on Prime Video. “House of David” also inspired a soundtrack that features exclusive recordings from NEEDTOBREATHE and Tori Kelly, for KING + COUNTRY, Anne Wilson and more.
