This music video for "Love One Another” started with a conversation between the band and our management. We hadn’t recorded a video in a while and thought it’d be great to do one with Peter and Phil.
We’ve all been together touring Newsboys UNITED the last couple years and having a blast. Once we got the the green light we had no doubt in our minds, we wanted to work with Max Hsu, who’s a long time friend and brilliant director. After more than a month of conversations, lunches and lots of phone calls and video ideas, we settled on the concept for “Love One Another”.
We then quickly realized we were over our heads in a lot of areas and over and over again people just kept volunteering their time, their wardrobes, all kinds of equipment, their houses and so much more. So the theme of the song was even shown back to us in people helping with logistics, staffing and all that kind of stuff. The video really was a labor of love.
We shot the video early in 2020 and at the time planned to release it a few short weeks ago before everything with COVID-19 started happening in the world. And now we realize the message of loving each other and being there for each is even more timely now to remember. It’s our hope the video will give people a reminder of what's important while also giving everyone a much needed laugh in this difficult time in our country and around the world and remind us to look after each other.
There’s a lot of uncertainty right now and while we don’t know what’s ahead, we do know with certainty God is ultimately in control.
