Monika Kelly speaks with Leah Varnell, Executive Director of CASA in the Denver Metro area about the important role of volunteers in the lives of foster children and youth. The CASA volunteer is a liaison between the child and the court system (the attorney, judge, social worker and parent). The CASA volunteer meets with the child, collects data and recommends reunification (or not) to the court. CASA volunteers are important, consistent advocates for children and youth in foster care and are desperately needed. Listen to find out why CASA volunteers love what they do.
