Jason Craig speaks with Shanel Jackson, Advocate Supervisor of CASA of South Louisiana. CASA of SOLA has been making an impact in the South Louisianna area since 2008. Jackson shares their mission, which is to break the cycle of child abuse and neglect in the community. She clearly defines a CASA advocate and the process. Jackson discusses why CASA is significant, as over 400 children in the Lafayette area still need a home. With a professional background in mental health, she emphasizes the mental and emotional state of the children in the system and how the community can help (casaofsola.org).
