LOCAL Closer Look: City Mission of Schenectady

Posted on Sunday, February 9, 2025 by Peter Kaye

Peter Kaye speaks with Michael Saccocio from City Mission of Schenectady about the challenges of homelessness throughout the Capital District. Saccocio draws from his thirty-five years of experience serving the homeless and discusses some of the common causes and misconceptions. He addresses the effects that immigration has had on the community he serves and speaks to the generosity of the local churches and companies who partner with the Mission to see lives changed. Saccosio states that forty percent of the staff at City Mission of Schenectady have come through the program and how God has used "their mess as their message" to help others.
