Peter Kaye speaks with Tricia Laursen of DetecTogether, a local nonprofit teaching people how to detect cancer through a three-step program. Laursen points out that there are over 200 different kinds of cancer and the CDC recommends screening for only four. She breaks down the three steps of detection to 1. Know your great (health) 2. The two-week rule. 3. Share with your doctor. Laursen uses simple analogies to describe difficult concepts including the 4 stages of cancer. She gives encouragement for those having symptoms to take the first step to better health by speaking with their doctor.
