Kindra Ponzio talks with Kathleen Nestler, Executive Director, Girls on the Run of Silicon Valley. Nestler talks about a running program but much more. It is run by volunteer coaches that have a curriculum to follow that teaches young school aged girls, confidence, character building, conflict resolution, community involvement, etc. Nestler says the girls train for a 5K run that they do at their own pace, and in the meantime learn from the curriculum that is taught. She says the girls come from all walks of life and the program is very inclusive for all girls, and welcome girls with disabilities.
