Felipe Aguilar talked with Ashley Tejerina, Trainer/Recruiter with Great Plains Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA). CASA serves Deaf Smith County by advocating for the safety and well-being of children who find themselves in the care of Child Protection Services due to abuse, neglect, and other traumatic circumstances. Tejerina describes the role of a CASA Advocate Volunteer, the training they undergo in preparation to becoming a CASA Advocate, and the time commitment required as a CASA volunteer. Tejerina also talks about the positive impact that CASA has had in the lives of children that they serve.
