Ron Turner talks with Artena Thompson, Executive Director of Hall County Housing Authority. Thompson explains the function of the Housing Authority for those in need of affordable and accessible housing. Thompson describes those who use their services are those at the poverty level and works with H.U.D. who provides funding for their Section 8 housing. She talks about their voucher program where people can select their own participating property. There is also an Emergency Voucher that is used for someone who is homeless and needs shelter faster. Thompson says their biggest challenge is finding landlords who are willing to accept the program. (https://www.hcha.net/)
