Kindra Ponzio talks with Alma Soto, Exec Dir of Heart of the Valley. Soto talks about the importance of our seniors being able to live independently, and stay safe and healthy. They offer services like rides, home repairs and safety features, yard work, or any help seniors may need. Soto says sometimes just a phone call will make their day. She says they also offer animal visits or human visits. Staying social is so good for their health as Isolation can cause depression, heart problems and even stroke. Soto says they use a lot of volunteers to help facilitate all of this.
