Sarah Shaver talks with Humane Society of Ocean City Executive Director Bill Hollingsworth and their Operations and Development Director, Bill Bellucci. Bellucci notes their mission is not only to domestic pets but to wildlife on the barrier island as well. Hollingsworth says the shelter has certified dog trainers and behavioral specialists to prepare animals for life outside the shelter, where a dog or cat’s life can be difficult. He also tells the story of Reilly the special needs dog. Bellucci discusses the Society’s extensive education program, including the “Animal Crackers” kids’ program. What’s The Big Red Barn?
