Ron Turner talks to Bobbi Starr, Executive Director for Micah’s Promise in Columbus.. Starr discusses how individuals who have experienced exploitive trafficking may exhibit signs of anxiety, emotional numbness, memory loss, and depression. Starr talks about the average age of first exploitation is 13 and in a familial situation that lowers to the age of 5 due to easier access. Starr talks about the signs to look for in someone who may be a victim of exploitive trafficking and what steps to take to help them. A victim herself, Starr describes the journey she took to develop a program curriculum and therapeutic home that offers safe guidelines for High School and Elementary age children.
