Peter Kaye speaks with Kaitlin Della Grotta of Rise, a nonprofit organization in Providence, Rhode Island serving children of incarcerated parents to achieve success through both their scholarship and mentoring programs. Della Grotta shares that there are 4,000 incarcerated parents throughout Rhode Island. She proudly points out that Rise has a 100% success rate of enrolled kids graduating private or parochial high school since 2012 and gives insight into why that is. Della Grotta explains how the mentorship program impacts the lives of the mentors as well as the mentees and shares the constant need for male mentors.
