Ron Turner speaks with Major Thomas McWilliams, Commanding Officer for the Salvation Army metro-Atlanta Command about the mission and purpose of the 150 year old organization. McWilliams says the Salvation Army helps people because they believe it is the right thing to do and the Christ like thing to do. McWilliams describes the various programs they have available such as food pantry’s, shelters, men’s rehabilitation programs, work programs as well as their thrigt stores and red kettle campaigns. McWilliams explains how the Salvation Army provides 17% of the shelters to the homeless families and individuals throughout metro-Atlanta.
