Peter Kaye speaks with Christina Thompson of Breast Cancer Coalition, a local grass roots organization assisting cancer survivors through four pillars of support, education, advocacy, and research. Thompson shares her own experience from diagnosis to undergoing both chemotherapy and radiation treatments and how that has allowed her to help others. She outlines the many discussion groups available both in person and virtually and shares why they can be a huge benefit to an individual with a cancer diagnosis. Thompson also speaks to the work the Coalition is doing in regarding legislation on the state and federal level to aid those touched by cancer.
