Ron Turner talks with Shannon Newcomb, Ministry Leader with Celebrate Recovery at Fellowship Community Church who helps define “Recovery” saying it is more than just Drugs and Alcohol. Newcomb describes the twelve steps in the Celebrate Recovery program they offer and helps explain the God centered focus the program offers. Newcomb explains how there are many people who are in bondage to some type of issue or pain that keeps them in a “dark” place and how, through intervention, can overcome their issues and move toward healing. Celebrate Recovery was founded by John Baker in 1991 and is now a national program hosted by Churches to assist people with all backgrounds. Baker had been through the conventional twelve step program for his own demons but wanted something more God Centered for people to not only come out of their issues and addictions, but come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.
