How to Keep Growing Spiritually in 3 Steps

The goal of Christian living is to continue to grow and fall more in love with Jesus throughout our lives. Nobody achieves perfection in a lifetime, rather we're invited on a journey with the One whose passion drove Him to die for us. Let us help you take your next steps in your relationship with Jesus.

Here are 3 steps for Christian Living:

1. View all your life as a relationship with God. Living for Jesus is not about following a list of do’s and don’ts but a relationship with God.

2. Love God first. Matthew tells us to love the Lord with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength. (Matt. 22:37-40) It all starts with loving Jesus most.

3. Love people next. Once we prioritize our vertical relationship with God, it supernaturally flows into our horizontal relationships with others. Love your neighbor as yourself, and you will thrive as a Christian.

Below are some scriptures to help you know what God says about our life in Christ. In addition, we have included devotions and resources on the central Christian Living page to assist you with questions and struggles. Finally, if you want prayer or to talk about what it means to live fully for Jesus, please call the pastoral care team at 800-525-5683.

Additional Scriptures

1 Peter 2:9

But you are not like that, for you are a chosen people. You are royal priests, a holy nation, God’s very own possession. As a result, you can show others the goodness of God, for He called you out of the darkness into His wonderful light.

Psalm 1:1-2

Oh, the joys of those who do not follow the advice of the wicked, or stand around with sinners, or join in with mockers. 2 But they delight in the law of the Lord, meditating on it day and night.

Galatians 5:16

So I say, let the Holy Spirit guide your lives. Then you won’t be doing what your sinful nature craves.

Galatians 5:22-26

But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things! 24 Those who belong to Christ Jesus have nailed the passions and desires of their sinful nature to His cross and crucified them there. 25 Since we are living by the Spirit, let us follow the Spirit’s leading in every part of our lives. 26 Let us not become conceited, or provoke one another, or be jealous of one another.
