It can be overwhelming moving into a new season or a new year when you don’t know what’s ahead (or even if you do know what’s ahead!). God has so much in store for your future, and when you’re walking in step with Him, fully surrendered to His will, and living with expectant hope in His plans, amazing things will happen. Here are five prayers to pray over your future.
A Prayer for My Future Career
God, thank You for blessing me in ways I haven’t even seen come to pass yet. You have been so faithful to provide in every area of my life. I surrender my future career path to You, wherever it may take me. I trust that You know what’s best, and that You will open doors where you want them opened and close them when an opportunity arises that isn’t for me. Remind me that everything I do, including my job, is a chance to serve You and demonstrate Your love to those around me. In Jesus’ name I pray, amen.
A Prayer for My Future Family
Heavenly Father, I am so grateful for the amazing people I get to call my family. Right now I lift up my future family, whatever that may look like, to You. Prepare my heart so that when the time comes I’ll be able to set a good example and steward my family in a Christ-like way. I pray that we will love each other well, and that we will serve and love You faithfully. I know You know all the desires of my heart, and I entrust those desires to You. Thank You for everything that you’re going to do in and through my family and me. I love You, and I pray this in Your name. Amen.
A Prayer for My Future Dreams and Goals
Lord, there is so much I want to do, so many things I want to make, so many places I want to go and people I want to meet. Sometimes it feels a little overwhelming, and I’m not even sure where to start or which path to take. So before I pursue any of those dreams, I surrender them to You. I don’t want to go after anything if You’re not in it. I pray for clarity of purpose in all my dreams and goals. I don’t want my future to be about me, but about You. My greatest desire is to bring You honor and glory in everything I do. Help me continuously lay my own desires at Your feet, and to be obedient when I feel you calling me to something. I look forward to the future You have for me with expectant hope. Thank You, Jesus. In Your name, amen.
A Prayer for My Future Relationships
God, I thank You for all the wonderful people I get to call my friends, my coworkers, and my family. You made us for relationship, and it’s such a privilege to get to live in community with people who love You so well. I pray right now for all the people I still have yet to meet. I pray that You will lead me to the exact people You want me to know and impact, and who will in turn have an impact on me. I know each person in my life is there for a reason. Help me to remember that everyone I encounter is made in Your image and therefore worthy of love, care, and respect. Thank You for being with those people even now, for blessing them and keeping them safe. In Jesus’ name, amen.
A Prayer for My Future
Jesus, thank You so much for the life You’ve blessed me with. There are so many uncertainties in this life, but the one thing I know I can always count on is You. You will never leave me, never stop loving me, and never stop desiring the best for me. Thank You for Your goodness and faithfulness in every season. I release my future to You and trust that You are going to make something beautiful out of it. I’m excited, hopeful, and humbled to see what’s in store for me. Thank You, Lord. I love You. Let my life be an offering to You. In Jesus’ name I pray, amen.
