Pray for the Middle East

Times of global unrest and turmoil leave us with a deep desire to offer support and intercede on behalf of those affected. Prayer, as a source of strength, hope, and connection with God, holds incredible power to transcend geographical boundaries. It allows us to direct our compassion and concern into meaningful action. In this collection of prayers, we seek to provide a heartfelt tool to help you process and pray for the events taking place in and around Israel. Each prayer is anchored in scripture, drawing on God’s promises and truths to guide our intercession.

1. He will cover you with His feathers. He will shelter you with His wings. His faithful promises are your armor and protection.Psalm 91:4 NLT

Father, we turn to You, seeking refuge and safety for all affected by the conflict in Israel and its neighboring nations. Just as Your Word promises, we pray that You, the Most High, will shelter them under Your protective wings. May Your presence bring a calming assurance to both civilians and peacekeepers on the ground. We trust in Your unwavering care, believing that in Your shadow, they find comfort and security. In Jesus’ name, amen.

2. He heals the brokenhearted and bandages their wounds.Psalm 147:3 NLT

Compassionate Lord, our hearts ache for those wounded physically and emotionally by the ongoing conflict. We lift them up to You, asking for Your divine touch to mend their broken bodies and soothe their troubled souls. Just as Your Word tells us that You heal the brokenhearted, we cling to Your promise of restoration. May Your comforting hand bring solace and relief to the injured and traumatized. In Jesus’ name, amen.

3. For “Everyone who calls on the name of the LORD will be saved.”Romans 10:13 NLT

Loving Savior, as we intercede for those caught in the midst of this turmoil, we long for salvation and spiritual renewal to sweep through the hearts of the people involved. Your Word assures us that everyone who calls on Your name will be saved. We pray for a profound awakening to Your truth, that amidst the chaos, multitudes may look and find the eternal hope only You provide. In Your name, amen.

4. Pray for the peace of Jerusalem. May all who love this city prosper.Psalm 122:6 NLT

Prince of peace, we cry out for Your divine intervention in Israel and the surrounding regions. Just as Your Word implores us to pray for the peace of Jerusalem, we earnestly petition You to bestow tranquility upon this land. Let prosperity flourish, and may Your unwavering peace reign over the hearts of its people. In Jesus’ name, amen.

5. When people’s lives please the Lord, even their enemies are at peace with them.Proverbs 16:7 NLT

Lord of wisdom, we seek Your guidance in fostering communication and understanding among the nations involved. Your Word tells us that when our ways please You, You make even our enemies to be at peace with us. We pray for transformed hearts, turning adversaries into peacemakers, that they may work together for lasting resolutions. In Christ’s name, amen.

6. “I pray that they will all be one, just as You and I are one—as You are in Me, Father, and I am in You. And may they be in Us so that the world will believe You sent Me.”John 17:21 NLT

Lord Jesus, we come before You, longing for unity within Your Church. As You prayed for us to be one, may Your followers stand united in prayer, demonstrating Your love amid this tumultuous time. Let our collective voice of intercession rise as a testament to Your grace, bringing light to the darkness. In Your name, amen.

7. God is our refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble.Psalm 46:1 NLT

God, our Protector, we lift up those who are working tirelessly to maintain peace and stability in the region. Just as Your Word assures us that You are a refuge and strength, we ask that You shield these peacekeepers from harm. Strengthen them with courage, wisdom, and a deep sense of Your presence as they fulfill their mission. In Jesus’ name, amen.

8. For the Lord grants wisdom! From His mouth come knowledge and understanding.Proverbs 2:6 NLT

Divine Counselor, we implore You to grant wisdom to world leaders navigating the complexities of this crisis. As Your Word reminds us that You are the source of all wisdom, we seek Your guidance for their decisions. May they act justly, with compassion and understanding, working toward a peaceful resolve. In Jesus’ name, amen.

9. “God blesses those who mourn, for they will be comforted.”Matthew 5:4 NLT

Loving God, we lift up those who are grieving the loss of their loved ones in this conflict. Just as Your Word assures us that You comfort those who mourn, we ask for Your divine presence to bring solace and healing to these broken hearts. May they find hope and strength in You. In Jesus’ name, amen.

10. He will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain. All these things are gone forever.Revelation 21:4 NLT

God of hope, we turn to You amid this turmoil, seeking the hope, joy, and peace that only Your Holy Spirit can provide. Your Word reminds us that You will wipe away every tear and put an end to all sorrow and pain. We pray that, even in the midst of uncertainty, Your hope shines brightly in the hearts of all affected by this crisis. In Jesus’ name, amen.
