Prayers for a Hectic Season

Family

If you find yourself in a hectic season or feel overwhelmed with the demands of family, career, holidays, or other life events, it’s important to remember that God is with you! While working hard and keeping busy can be good things, being stretched too far or spread too thin can make us feel like we’ve lost control of our own schedule, which can rob us of peace. Here are five prayers and Scripture verses to remind you that God is still in control, wants to restore your peace, and is able to give you rest.

You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in You, all whose thoughts are fixed on You! – Isaiah 26:3 NLT

God, my thoughts are racing with the demands that have been placed on my time. There are so many things I need to accomplish and so much that I want to do that I’m not even sure where to start. I am worried I won’t get to everything. Help me to remember that you are in control and I can trust You. Calm my anxious thoughts and help me focus on You. In Jesus’ name, amen.

“Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and He will give you everything you need.” – Matthew 6:33 NLT

Lord, it is so easy to be consumed with everything I think I need to accomplish during this season. Help me to remember that You are who I need first. I want to seek Your presence and live for You before anything or anyone else. Give me the confidence to trust that You will provide everything I need and the strength to stand strong in my faith through the most difficult moments. I ask all this in the mighty name of Jesus, amen.

Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank Him for all He has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus. – Philippians 4:6-7 NLT

Heavenly Father, being too busy easily leads me to worry. I am turning to You because I know You care about me. I believe You will provide everything I need, and I am so thankful that I have seen You do it before. Please guard my heart and mind with Your peace so that I remain grounded in my relationship with You. I choose to trust You. In Your Son’s holy name, amen.

Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.” – Matthew 11:28 NLT

Jesus, the chaos of this season has left me feeling exhausted and empty. I am so grateful that You are the lifter of my burdens and the One who gives me rest. Help me to find comfort and to be rejuvenated by spending time with You. Lead me to the places and moments where I can be filled up again. Thank You for welcoming me even when I am weary. In Your name, amen.

The Lord gives His people strength. The Lord blesses them with peace. – Psalm 29:11 NLT

Lord, I need Your strength to accomplish the things that must be done in this season. I also need Your help and peace to recognize the things that are not necessary right now. Please give me wisdom to know the difference and order my steps through each day. Thank You for going ahead of me and for guiding my path. In Jesus’ name, amen.
