During the Walk for Apraxia, the community gathers to recognize and celebrate the achievements of individuals diagnosed with childhood apraxia of speech (CAS). CAS a severe speech disability and does not have a cure, but progress can be made with intense treatment efforts. The individuals we honor are called the Apraxia Stars. This event is for all ages and abilities, and includes fun activities & engagement opportunities, a ceremony of recognition, and walking as a group to raise awareness. Funds raised as part of this event help develop and sustain the programs and resources offered by the national nonprofit, Apraxia Kids. These resources are available to all families and professionals supporting those with CAS, often for free or at low costs due to the donations received during the Walk for Apraxia. Registration is required, but its FREE!
