Do you feel like an outcast? A loner? Like no one understands you? Country crooner Ben Fuller knows what that's like, and he has an important message just for you.
In this stripped-back performance, which features Fuller’s haunting vocals over a single acoustic guitar, the “If I Got Jesus” singer tells the tale of a black sheep to a captivated Red Rocks audience. As if speaking to his past self, the K-LOVE artist speaks directly to the “black sheep” and reminds them of Jesus’ unchanging love.
“Amazing grace, it’s a pesky, pesky thing… the good news is He’ll never leave you be,” sings Fuller just before the crowd launches into a 25-second applause break. Fuller gently plucks the guitar strings as he waits; finally, he drives the point home: “Jesus loves you, black sheep.”
Co-written with Michael Farren and Tony Wood, the emotional track serves as the namesake for Fuller’s spring headlining tour, which kicks off March 12 in Michigan City, Indiana.
