Jeanice Lee speaks with Care 4 the Caregivers Co-Founder and CEO Michelle Thorne. After her son’s autism diagnosis left her overwhelmed and without support, Thorne helped create the nonprofit to assist parents raising children with disabilities. The organization offers free mental-health counseling, parent training, and community events that help caregivers manage emotions, learn practical strategies, and reduce isolation. With more than 400 events each year—many virtual—they provide accessible support across Arizona. They also advocate through DAPA to keep families informed about disability-related legislation.
