Peter Kaye speaks with Cathlyn Lamitie of Hospice of the North Country a nonprofit organization with offices in Malone and Plattsburgh who cares for those who are facing challenges at the end-of-life. Lamitie speaks to the importance of having crucial conversations with your loved ones regarding their wishes before hospice care is necessary. She states that one’s end-of-life is as important as one’s birth and should be treated equally. Lamitie tells bittersweet stories of patients and their caregivers receiving critical care and encouragement allowing them to focus on what is important rather than the stress and responsibilities of the moment.
