Jeanice Lee talks to Evie Kumar, Executive Director, Safe Haven Maternity Home in Roseburg, OR. Originally designed to support teen moms that were in their pregnancy and needed support after their baby was born. Today they now serve women 18+ with different types of backgrounds such as domestic violence, drug use, homelessness etc. Kumar says they are contracted with DHS to be a returned to parent facility to reunite women with their children. Kumar says what makes them special is the 24-hr. care provided to the women offering mentoring, financial support, medical care, transportation, support in court and more.
