Kindra Ponzio talks with Bob Mickelsen, Local Chapter President with Sleep in Heavenly Peace. Mickelsen gives us some history on how SHP got started in the first place and what attracted him to it. He said they build beds for kids that don't have beds, sleeping with multiple kids to a bed, or on the floor or couches. These are all built by volunteers and delivered free of charge to the recipients with new mattress, sheets, comforters, pillows, etcetera. Mickelsen talks about the amazing reward that you get when you see the kids' faces light up because sometimes it's the first bed they've ever owned. Their motto "no kid sleeps on the floor in our town" is what he absolutely believes should happen, and he says the need is unbelievable.
