Peter Kaye speaks with Michael Messina, Visitor Programs Manager at Wolfe’s Neck Center for Agriculture and the Environment in Freeport, Maine providing hands-on agricultural education to students throughout the state. Messina discusses programs that connect classroom learning to real-world farming, including dairy production, soil science, ecosystems, and sustainability. He also shares how teachers collaborate to tailor lessons and reinforce concepts during fun, interactive visits to the Center. Messina shares his own love for the outdoors as well as impactful feedback that Wolfe’s Neck Center has received from teachers and their students.
