Newcomer Carly Ann Taylor drowns out the voice of fear with her radio debut, “Why Should I Worry.” The San Diego-based singer-songwriter draws inspiration from Matthew 6 across the soulful original. Taylor wrote the song during a pivotal time in her life when she was unsure about her future.

“God met me in a difficult season with this encouragement: ‘Why should you worry? I’m holding your future in My hands.’ And He really meant it. He has done exceedingly and abundantly more than I could’ve ever imagined or dreamt. And the best part is… It’s just the beginning,” she shares. “Every worry, every hope, every hidden place in our hearts…wherever you find yourself today, you are fully seen and fully held. We serve a God who never misses a detail of our lives. Let this be your anthem, and let the peace of the Lord fill you.”

Taylor originally released a recording of the moving song back in 2024 as an independent artist. Now signed to a record label, she’s reintroducing the standout track — formally retitled “Why Should I Worry (Remind Me Version)” — as her first single.

Recalling powerhouse pop vocalists like Rachael Lampa and Stacie Orrico, Taylor’s extraordinary range is on full display across the anthem that reminds listeners God knows our needs before we do. Therefore, we can find peace in His consistent provision.

The emerging songstress has a remarkable story to accompany her compelling introductory offering. Born in Hawaii, Taylor was raised in a dysfunctional home by parents who struggled with drug addiction. When her parents were no longer able to safely care for her, at 15, the Converse-loving teen moved to California where her older half-brother and his wife took her in and adopted her as their own. Today, she calls them Mom and Dad.

Her new parents took her to church, introduced her to Jesus; and a new calling in Christian music began to take root in Taylor’s heart. Her dad, who serves as the lead singer of indie alt-rock band Hopeful., is a co-writer on “Why Should I Worry.”
