Fishing, eating, camping, hiking, and boating became a significant part of the time Jesus and the disciples spent together as they traveled around Israel. I wonder what stories they told as they hiked along the roads of Judea, as they ate around campfires, as they sat in the boat crossing the sea of Galilee. Jesus knew how to capture a man’s heart. It wasn’t the men Jesus lectured to that changed the world. It was the twelve who were “with him” (Mk. 3:14).
It seems “No matter how much advancement we make in modern improvements, man’s nature does not change. His soul and emotions are the same and respond to the same things that have always touched them.” The principles Jesus used are as just effective today and serve as cornerstones for the Ministry of Trail Life USA.
