K-LOVE Fan Awards: 2023 Artist of the Year: for KING & COUNTRY

for KING & COUNTRY earned their third consecutive and fifth overall Artist of the Year win at the 10th annual K-LOVE Fan Awards. Unfortunately, the duo wasn’t able to attend this year’s ceremony due to a string of tour dates in Canada, rescheduled from 2020. Their wives, however, were on hand to accept the accolade on the collective’s behalf.

Together, Moriah and Courtney Smallbone recognized all the strong women keeping the home fires burning while their husbands are following the God-given call on their lives as touring musicians. The fiercely protective females also acknowledged their love and support for their leading men.

Meanwhile, Joel and Luke appeared via video prior to taking the stage in Canada to express their sincere thanks to K-LOVE fans. The brothers also dedicated their win to the late Steve Strout, a co-founder and executive producer of the K-LOVE Fan Awards who passed away last year following a battle with cancer.

In addition to Artist of the Year, the decorated siblings were nominated in the Song of the Year category for their latest No. 1, “Love Me Like I Am (feat. Jordin Sparks).” Their double nods stem from the success of their fourth studio LP, “What Are We Waiting For?” and a run of sold-out concerts in support of the project.

After wrapping their Canadian performances earlier this week, for KING & COUNTRY is slated to hit festivals nationwide throughout the summer. Meanwhile, the band of brothers is putting the finishing touches on their second feature-length film, “Unsung Hero.” Set to debut in theaters in 2024, the highly anticipated movie is based on the extraordinary journey of the Smallbone matriarch, who took a massive leap of faith and moved her family across the globe to pursue her husband’s dreams and create a better life for her seven children. Joel plays his dad, David, in the upcoming film.

for KING & COUNTRY’s most recent Artist of the Year trophy marks their 17th career win — the most of any act in K-LOVE Fan Awards history.
