Mandisa and Jon Reddick Keep Hope Alive with New Song

Mandisa is keeping hope alive in hard times with her latest single, a powerful duet with Gotee Records recording artist Jon Reddick, called "You Keep Hope Alive."

The upbeat worship anthem offers praise up to a God who resurrects hope in the midst of hardship. The cover art and official lyric video for the song both feature a custom watercolor of a cotton candy sky stretching out to the horizon at sunrise, hovering just above a lush tree line. As is his custom with his own single releases, Reddick hand-painted the artwork.

Reddick—who co-wrote the track alongside Anthony Skinner and Jess Cates—originally recorded "You Keep Hope Alive" and recently released a new version of the song in conjunction with Church of the City, a large congregation based in Franklin, Tenn., where he leads worship. The song was initially penned as a personal prayer as Reddick pondered the racism that incited the Charlottesville, Virginia, incident in 2017.

"With everything happening in our world today, the timely message of ‘You Keep Hope Alive’ is a declaration to our souls that God is still on His throne and specializes in bringing beauty from ashes," Mandisa says. "My prayer is that God will use this song to remind us, His children, that our hope is alive because our Savior, Jesus, is alive."

"You Keep Hope Alive" follows Mandisa’s version of "Way Maker," which the songstress released earlier this year, hinting at a full slate of new music coming soon.
