WASHINGTON (April 24, 2026) — For several days now, something remarkable has been unfolding in the heart of the nation’s capital.
Inside the Museum of the Bible, Scripture has been read aloud, continuously, from Genesis to Revelation, as part of America Reads the Bible, a weeklong gathering drawing voices from across the country.
WATCH: The Heart Behind ‘America Reads the Bible’
What began as a simple idea, to read God’s Word out loud, has grown into a powerful moment of unity, reflection, and faith.
Nearly 500 participants, including pastors, public figures, artists, and everyday believers, have taken their turn reading Scripture, each voice contributing to a collective reminder of the Bible’s enduring message.
Among the most widely watched moments this week was a prerecorded reading from Donald J. Trump, who read from 2 Chronicles: 7, a passage that calls people to humility, prayer, and seeking God.
But beyond the headlines, it’s the quieter moments that are leaving a lasting impact.
Moments where voices tremble with emotion.
Moments where Scripture is spoken slowly… intentionally.
Moments where listeners—both in the room and watching from home, simply pause.
Organizers say millions have tuned in through Pure Flix or gathered in person, creating a shared experience centered not on commentary, but on the Word itself.
More Than an Event
For many involved, America Reads the Bible has become more than a public reading, it’s been a personal encounter.
From Old Testament promises to the life and resurrection of Jesus in the New Testament, the readings have carried listeners through the full story of Scripture, offering hope, conviction, and encouragement along the way.
Later today, Erika Kirk is expected to read a Gospel account centered on the resurrection of Jesus, marking a powerful transition into the New Testament as the weeklong event nears its conclusion.
And for those watching from afar, it has created space to slow down in a fast-moving world… and simply listen.

A Moment That’s Still Unfolding
As the event moves into its final chapters this weekend, the message remains clear:
God’s Word is still alive.
Still speaking.
Still reaching hearts.
And while the final verses will soon be read, many believe the impact of this week is only just beginning.
