YouVersion saw its highest day ever for installs on Easter day, up 76% compared to Easter in 2022. The spike was a result of people installing both the media-rich Bible App and the space-saving Bible App Lite, which is currently available in Africa and SE Asia as part of a recent effort to equip counties with internet limitations.
During Holy Week 2023, YouVersion saw nearly 2 million total installs. Countries in Africa and SE Asia saw some of the most significant increases in installs for both apps compared to last year:
- India – up 91%
- Nigeria – up 136%
- South Africa – up 167%
- Kenya – up 448%
- Ghana – up 146%
- Congo DR – up 889%
- Uganda – up 893%
These countries saw a combined total of more than 460,000 installs, 50% of which were Bible App Lite installs.
Also during Holy Week, YouVersion saw an increase in the use of key Bible App features compared to last year:
- 4.5 million Guided Prayer completions, up 243%
- 7.4 million Verse of the Day Story completions, up 102%
- Nearly 9 million Bible verses were shared, up 6.6%

- Matthew 21:21
