Now that same creative team is reaching younger audiences with The Chosen Adventures, which premiered Oct. 17 on Prime Video.
This beautifully animated series follows 9-year-old Abby and her best friend, Joshua, as they explore life in ancient Capernaum—and meet Jesus of Nazareth, who helps them see the world in a whole new way.
And yes—there’s even a talking sheep.
“My heart has always yearned for Gen Z and Gen Alpha to discover an authentic Jesus,” said Executive Producer Darrell Eves. “My own kids are Gen Z and I want them to know the Jesus I know.”

Seeing Jesus Through a Child’s Eyes
From the very beginning, The Chosen flipped the script—showing Jesus through the eyes of those He loved and called. The Chosen Adventures takes that same approach, this time through the eyes of children.
“Kids notice things adults miss,” Eves said. “We wanted to show how a child might experience Jesus—curious, honest and full of wonder.”
Even the sheep, though it talks, adds a layer of warmth and humor.
“The animals can talk to each other, not to humans,” he laughed. “But they bring perspective that reminds us— all creation points to God.”
Faith for Families Everywhere
For Eves, the reach of The Chosen has been nothing short of miraculous—and the same global vision continues with the new animated series.
“We’re premiering on Prime Video first, but we’ll also use YouTube to reach even more families around the world,” he said. “It’s not just entertainment—it’s ministry.”
The goal? To help parents and kids watch together, laugh together and talk about faith together.
God’s Hand in Every Frame
Eves describes the journey of The Chosen as one guided entirely by prayer and dependence on God.
“When we’re stuck and need a miracle, God always puts in place exactly what we need,” he said. “I’ve seen His personal love through this project again and again.”
From funding hurdles to production miracles, Eves believes The Chosen Adventures is proof that when God calls, He also provides.
The Voice That Brings Jesus to Life
Returning once again is Jonathan Roumie—whose gentle, powerful portrayal of Jesus has moved millions.
“It’s his voice,” Eves said. “Even in animation, you feel his compassion. His voice carries the heart of Jesus.”
He’s joined by a talented cast including Jordin Sparks, Paul Walter Hauser, Yvonne Orji and more.
“We didn’t go chasing big names—they came because they believed in the message,” Eves added.
A Show That Starts Conversations
Each episode centers on a life-giving theme designed to spark meaningful talks between parents and children.
“We want families to gather, watch and talk,” Eves said. “Faith, kindness, truth—the fundamentals. That’s where transformation happens.”
Future releases will include family discussion guides, so watching together can become a full-on faith experience.
Loaves, Fishes and Faith
“Honestly, the first miracle was that we could pay for it,” Eves laughed. “We used every gift and resource God provided—just putting out our loaves and fishes to see what He would do.”
And just like Scripture, God multiplied it—turning a small dream into a global ministry for children.
Lighting the Way for a New Generation
“Gen Z and Gen Alpha are returning to church in greater numbers than anyone expected,” Eves said. “If this show helps one child find peace or make a good choice—that’s everything.”
He hopes The Chosen Adventures inspires not only young viewers but future creators.
“We want more stories about Jesus. More light. More truth in the world.”
