Hindman, KY (by Billie Wright) - Pastor Steven Bell had the experience of a lifetime competing on the TV show, “Wheel of Fortune”.

"My main goal was not to win a bunch of cash and prizes. I was going for the sole purpose of having fun."

Pastor Bell did win big! He also used the national spotlight to promote something dear to his heart. "My wife, Ashley and I have six kids, three of which are adopted, one internationally, two domestically through the foster care system."

Adoption is often a conversation Pastor Bell has within his congregation at Hindman First Baptist Church, where he's been pastoring for the last 20 years. His time on 'Wheel' has brought about even more discussion of what he says is a global orphan crisis. Pastor Bell says, "We believe wholeheartedly that the church has always been, and still today is, God's answer for all that." He says throughout history the church has partnered to care for orphans. "If you want to be close to the heart of God, move toward the fatherless."
